Mechanic
Tony Morrisroe holding a set of tail rotors that pilot Jim Hicks flew for
3 miles to a safe landing area. This was after blowing driftwood into the
tail rotor during low level operation. The only damage to the aircraft was
to the tail rotors.

with a change in pitch, causes a loss of tail rotor authority in quartering
tail-winds.
